As many of you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a cause near and dear to the hearts of everyone here at Patti Nelson Luxury Group. In 2017, Patti’s sister, Juli, was diagnosed with breast cancer. But, thanks to early detection and annual mammograms, we are excited to say that she has been cancer-free for 5 years now!
Did you know that this year alone, an estimated 287,850 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in US women? Just think of all the lives that could be saved and impacted if everyone understood the importance of screenings.
So, we are challenging you to help us raise awareness, encourage loved ones to get checked yearly and support the cause by visiting these 5 businesses and events around San Antonio that will donate a portion of their proceeds to breast cancer foundations. We genuinely believe that together we can end breast cancer forever!
Plaza San Saba at La Cantera Resort and Spa
This month, La Cantera Resort and Spa is pledging to raise funds for WINGS, a Texas-based nonprofit that aims to bridge the gap between diagnosis and treatment by providing comprehensive breast health services to uninsured Central and South Texas women. Join the fun at Pinks on the Patio to enjoy live music, cocktails, light bites, and a unique theme each Friday. $2 from each drink will go directly to WINGS and will be matched by Cavender Cares.

Plaza San Saba at La Cantera Resort and Spa
In partnership with Lululemon, La Cantera Resort and Spa will offer free yoga on Plaza San Saba to bring attention to breast cancer awareness month. Don your pink attire, move to the rhythm of the music and savor a morning of cathartic yoga.
La Panaderia
Like the years before, La Panaderia will donate a portion of its proceeds to the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation through its Pink Concha fundraiser. For each limited-edition Pink Concha sold, $1 will go to the foundation in honor of the founders’ mother, who succumbed to the disease.
Kendra Scott
Make a statement and a difference through Kendra Scott’s Yellow for Pink! For each piece purchased, Kendra will donate 20% of the suite items and 50% of the charms to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the highest-rated breast cancer organization in the United States. Having partnered with BCRF since 2017, Kendra Scott has committed $250,000 this year to support its mission of advancing the world’s most promising research to eradicate this horrible disease.
ThriveWell Cancer Foundation at Cornerstone Christian School
On October 15th, the ThriveWell Cancer Foundation will present its 10th Annual Paint the Parkway Pink Fun Run. Not your ordinary 5k, participants will run some bases, climb stairs, and sprint to the finish line while spotlighting awareness and supporting those battling the disease. Register online for the 5k, one-mile walk, or kid’s run to receive a race t-shirt and the opportunity to win an award for the top three overall finishers, top masters finishers, and top breast cancer survivor. All children 10 years of age and younger who complete the 5k will receive a special trophy.
Crush Cancer Giveaway
For the fourth year in a row, we will be celebrating and empowering those who have beat or are currently battling breast cancer by offering a luxurious giveaway! The contest winner will receive a $200 spa treatment of their choice for themselves and a friend at the beautiful Loma de Vida Spa at La Cantera Resort!
